God of War now in 4K/60 fps on PS5

GSY Video PS5 PS4

God of War has been patched so PS5 owners can enjoy the game in 4K/60fps and we have to say it looks phenomenal. If you have a PS5 and you haven't played it, now is really the time to catch up. We recorded some footage for you guys, one video os ready and the second one is encoding. Enjoy!

could pass for a native ps5 game.
hopefully its a lot quieter. i remember playing in 4k/30 fps mode on my ps4 pro, had to stop after 10 minutes because of the jet engine noise.

ugh cursed topic, but sure yhea, this generation is starting to slowly becoming a Capital U Huge dissapointement in the Next-Gen dust department if this looks "Good".

Those meager Jaguar CPUs did their fair share of the load back then, more than these fuckin' computer copy+paste consoles ridden with cross-gen fodder no one asked for.

Some audio channels are missing, centre being one of them. There's no audio when kratos speaks.

Realized that too late. I don't understand why, PS5 was not in 5.1 when it was recorded. Well at least, that's what the settings said. Clearly, they lied. :x

Now if they would have released it on PC, then it was 4k/60 from the get go. Heck, even 4k/120 :)

The game ist not running in 4k. The game does use Checkerboarding on the PS5 as well as on the PS4 Pro.

Back then Checkerboarding was good solution for the PS4 Pro, just today it is out of date - especially if you patch a PS4 game to the PS5: Checkerboarding is not native 4k but interpolated and upscaled ... God of war runs on the PS4Pro in native 1800p and 1620p at 30 FPS. Now it runs at the same resolution with 60FPS.

60FPS with this resolution are a joke on the PS5 for a last gen title.

Gears 5 for example was already running on the old Xbox One X with 60FPS and almost 4k - between 1584p and 1728p.

God War is cursed for Gamersyde. When they recorded PS4 videos of this game back then there was a black border visible around the videos. Now we have audio issues... But I don't want to blame Gamersyde for it. Mistakes are human of course.

In my opinion the game is starting to show signs of age visually, even at 60 fps, but I'd love to see a patch for Uncharted 4 now. If I got news of that I'd probably replace my PS4 Pro with a PS5. I almost have enough reason to get one but unfortunately it is mostly related to performance enhancements with last gen games that I haven't finished.

I have other reasons to get the PS5 and I'm not very particular about the graphics. But I agree. God of War is a gorgeous game that must be played at maximum setting!
