Our video of Death's Door on PS5

Death’s Door was originally released last summer on Xbox consoles and PC but it is now available on Playstation 4, Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch. You should already know by now that the feedback on the game has been overwhelmingly positive, so you shouldn't be too surprised to find out that we've been enjoying our time with it. We have reached what we think is the last part of the adventure and we can assure that you'll enjoy it too unless you're after something entirely original.

Guardian of the Galaxy adds ray tracing to consoles

The surprisingly good Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy has just received a new update adding a ray tracing mode on Xbox Series X and Playstation 5. We recorded a bunch of gameplay clips on Xbox Series X so you can see it for yourself. As far as we can tell, image quality is not as sharp as in the quality mode, most certainly due to the lower resolution, but framerate seems to be steady (at 30 fps though).

Check out our gameplay video of Marsupilami: Hoobadventure!

Marsupilami: Hoobadventure! is now available on last gen consoles, PC and Nintendo Switch. Because we were only sent a code this morning, we could only record the first 10 minutes of the adventure like in the old days of the website. The following video was recorded on Xbox Series X but as far as we know there is no specific support for the new consoles. The game may be intended for kids but it's really pleasant to play from the little we've seen. It's clearly inspired by the likes of Donkey Kong Country or Rayman with the same sort of flow found on those titles, so in a way, it's not really original by any means. that said, it seems like a pretty fun game to share with one's children.

Presentation of Sherlock Holmes Chapter One

We were sent Sherlock Holmes Chapter One about a week ago but since we haven't had time to complete it before the end of the embargo, we decided to record a long presentation video of the Playstation 5 version. We also have some PC gameplay footage to share, but as you'll see, whatever the system, there are performance issues that might be a good reason to some to wait for a few patches. The investigation part of the game works well, although ithere is not much new in that area if you've played The Sinking City, but the action sequences really feel out of place. Now it may be us of course, but they are simply too cumbersome to be relevant in the overall package and at the end of the day, we found them not fun at all. Thankfully, bandit lairs can be totally dismissed and even though you will have to deal with some of those scenes in the course of the main storyline, that's not what you'll be doing most of the time.

Industria hits our PC hard

You may not have heard about INDUSTRIA, unless you saw Digital Foundry's coverage of this PC game featuring DLSS and ray tracing (on shadows, reflections and ambient occlusion), but it is a very demanding one even on high end machines. Clearly, it should not be the case when deactivating ray tracing and when using DLSS with our i9 9900K and RTX 2080 Ti, as framerate still drops regularly under 60 and lowering the resolution (with the scaling option, for some reason, we can't seem to be able to change resolution manually). Aside from that, the game's atmosphere is really intriguing, but Bleakmill's title is best played with a mouse and keyboard. For some reason, playing with a controller doesn't feel right and we even add to map certain functions like the sprint button to it as they were not available on the default layout. Moreover, we're not too fond of the old school melee combat which makes it difficult not to get hit. That said, the feedback on Steam is mostly positive, so if you like what you see in our long gameplay video, it's certainly worth a look.

We almost forgot The Forgotten City

The Forgotten City originally came out on July 28 but we sadly missed it back then due to the summer vacation period. The game was recently added to Game Pass, giving more people a chance to try this highly praised title. If you love time loop stories and the Antiquity, you might want to take a closer look. We recorded the first 30 minutes of the adventure on PC to give you a sense of the game's atmosphere so don't hesitate to share your experience of you have already played it. To think this was originally a simple mod and it was only developed by three lead developers is quite impressive.

Our first steps in Elden Ring

The Elden Ring technical test started but because it is limited to certain days and times we have only been able to scratch the surface. The following video only shows the very beginning and clearly we had no idea what to do or here to go. Hopefully, you'll enjoy the footage anyway!
